According to Out of Africa as Pygmies and back as global "Mongoloids" the valleys between vast areas of high altitude mountain regions in Central Asia together with frequent and pronounced climate changes in Pleistocene, pumped genetic profiles up and down in evolutionary "test tubes". E.g. hybridization and hybrid vigour hence made mixing of genetical changes experienced in the cold north possible. On a cultural level the special pressures and rewards in protein rich but challenging territories (including Siberia) fostered new cultural settings (e.g. enhanced longevity, multi-generational families with enhanced "wisdom" etc).
The main purpose of the hypothesis is to find a pattern that better explains the existence of one human species with a multitude of "racial" differences against a background of a multitude of puzzling fossils and genetics.
