Senseless sex segregated chimp "research" at Boston University
Current Biology
Male Chimpanzees Prefer Mating with Old Females
Martin N. Muller et al
"Cross-cultural studies indicate that women's sexual attractiveness generally peaks before motherhood and declines with age [1]. Cues of female youth are thought to be attractive because humans maintain long-term pair bonds, making reproductive value (i.e. future reproductive potential) particularly important to males [2, 3]. Menopause is believed to exaggerate this preference for youth by limiting women's future fertility [1, 4]. This theory predicts that in species lacking long-term pair bonds and menopause, males should not exhibit a preference for young mates. We tested this prediction by studying male preferences in our closest living relative, the chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes). We show that despite their promiscuous mating system, chimpanzee males, like humans, prefer some females over others. However, in contrast to humans, chimpanzee males prefer older, not younger, females. These data robustly discriminate patterns of male mate choice between humans and chimpanzees. Given that the human lineage evolved from a chimpanzee-like ancestor, they indicate that male preference for youth is a derived human feature, likely adapted from a tendency to form unusually long term mating bonds."
Klevius comment: How come that a scientific magazine approves such nonsense?! Ever heard abt kinship, kin recognition etc - the most essential relationship in the living nature? If the "research" team compared a chimp kin-society/family/group with a non-kin human dito, then not only their conclusion but the entire research project was pure nonsense! It's a well known fact (albeight today surprisingly surpressed) that most creature/plants have a strong tendency to avoid incest! Take a human kinship family and you will find a striking resemblance with chimps (albeit such an experiment would demand that both chimp- and human cultural bias/traditions somehow are taken into account)! This also explains why bio-parents are the least likely to commit incest as shown in Klevius revealing comparison of incest research as well as in the thesis "Pathological symbiosis" in the sex segregated social state.

The "bastard belt" and the "global mongoloids
.
Klevius OOAAPABAGM hypothesis and factual racial distribution
Grey represents what Klevius names "the caucasoid bastard belt" between the "global mongoloids", incl. "capoids" in southern Africa who, on their return from Asia, dispersed all over Africa from the northeast. The latest dispersal to the far south, however, was due to the Bantu expansion.
After the modern human with the new brain had evolved as "mongoloid" in Asia its spreading was fast and decisive. Of course there were multiple "mongoloids" due to their interbreeding with different looking archaic "moderns".
Neanderthal/erectus/early modern traits have dissolved differently over the spectrum but can still be recognized. However, due to Klevius OOAAPABAGM hypothesis little can be said abt the content of the brain before we have assess to more statistical brain data. Nonetheless, it is believed here that the big stupid Neanderthal brain has since long been replaced by the new "pygmy-brain". Only some traces of the look remains.
To really understand the scenario one has to keep in mind: 1) the small but well-packed pygmy brain* came handy when poured into the "empty "Neanderthal/erectus/archaic modern heads"*. 2) These were good vessels due to their earlier adaptations for the cold. However, by hybridizing them with the slender pygmies a new species, our own, was born. 3) by moving north they not only turned "mongoloid" but also, due to the enourmous wealth of protein available for skilled people, became culturally multi-generational, due to extended life spans. 4) on their "return" complex clashing points developed, e.g. that the first modern human Africans, the Khoisan relatives, were genetically "sucked up" and only a minority survived until present.
* the "pygmy brain" came ultimately from a chimp but was refined in a human pygmy population
** some of the Neanderthals may had already been affected by earlier hybridization to some extent

Modern human/Neanderthal hybrid 37.000 years ago may be connected to human/chimp hybrid and the hobbit!
Update Nov 15, 2006: It's perhaps worth considering that newly published details from the Neanderthal genome show a genetic split at some 700 kya and a factual split some <350 kya followed by extinction 24 (?) kya, as well as a closer relation to chimps than to modern humans (compare postings below and the chimp/human hybrid)!
Background: Klevius hypothesis Out of Africa as "Pygmies" and back as global "Mongoloids".
Some new possible pieces in the puzzle
According to researchers at Howard Hughes Medical Institute and University of Chicago at least one occasion of succesful human/Neanderthal interbreeding occured some 37,000 years ago.
This seems to have led to adventages via the microcephalin "brain size" ASPM gene (the gene being some 1,1 million year old) hence altering the brain structure of some 70 percent of today's humans. Linked to the production of new neurons the known MCPH gene products show accelerated change along the lineage from apes to humans. ASPM gene underwent rapid change in the primate common ancestor of gorillas, chimps and humans as much as 8 million years ago.
As some forms of the microcephalin gene lead to small (characterized by a 70% reduction in brain size albeit otherwise normal) brains Islamist "scientist" Teuku Jacob and his strange (or just naive when not considering Islam's impact on science - see postings below) friends took the opportunity to claim Homo floresiensis a sick human. However, the really big leap, when human brain size tripled, began more than 2 million years ago, and continued to some 200 000–400 000 years ago suggesting an episode of accelerated sequence evolution in human ASPM (abnormal spindle-like microcephaly) after the split of humans and chimpanzees but before the separation of modern non-Africans from Africans.
Jianzhi Zhang (2003): Because positive selection acts on a gene only when the gene function is altered and the organismal fitness is increased, my results suggest that adaptive functional modifications occurred in human ASPM and that it may be a major genetic component underlying the evolution of the human brain.
Klevius comment: If we exclude Amazonas the Congo region is the only main continental jungle area on the equator. This area has harboured both human as well as chimp pygmies. Because, as noted on postings below, we have already some reason to consider a possible, reproductive chimp/human hybrid in the past, a hybridization with the Neanderthal (or other late forms of "Homo erectus"-like moderns) seems not far fetched at all. On the contrary, if there are any genes of special interest here it would certainly be something like ASPM associated with MCPH! This seems really intriguing against the background of How a wrinkled/complex African "Pygmy" brain became "human"! Also compare postings below!

Was Homo Floresiensis a hybrid?
The very fact that Homo floresiensis had a brain smaller than most chimpanzees, yet capable of producing/using advanced tools, is not only well in line with Klevius hypothesis (see postings below and Out of Africa as "pygmies" and back as global "mongoloids) but also with the fact that such a hybridized "genetic anomaly" on the verge of speciation occurs in the very same manner as does e.g. autosomal dominant Microcephaly (one may even rise the question whether Microcephaly is a remnant of this particular event(s?) in our evolution towards modern HSS brains)!
The Homo floresiensis brain isn't "too small for any explanation besides pathology" (Martin) but on the contrary the only logical outcome/missing link between big-skulled but stupid (in relation to brain volume) pre HSS and really modern HSS (90-50? kyr)! Also consider Klevius hypothesis (EMAH) on consciousness/AI and primitive vs. sophisticated thinking!
However, this will in no way free the deeds of Islamic Indonesia and its Islam supporting crypto-creationist "scientist" Teuku Jacobs, who has relentlessly tried to hinder a purely (i.e. non-Islamic) scientific study and interpretation of the floresiensis remains!

New research confirms the obvious: Islam's cryptocreationist "scientist" Teuku Jacob was wrong!
New study adds support to the selfevident, i.e. that skeletons found on the Indonesian island of Flores are no deformed humans but a new species.
Debbie Argue (Australian National University): "They're claiming it's a modern human and we're saying it's not, because it's got a lot of characteristics that are not found in Homo sapiens"

Religion strikes back: Pro-Islamic "scientists" try new tricks to blur Homo floresiensis discovery
for a background see Out of Africa as "pygmies" and back as global "mongoloids"
1) Robert Eckhardt of Pennsylvania State University (see below) together with Teuku Jacob (the guy who stole and damaged the LB1 "Hobbit" Homo floresiensis - btw, has anyone heard abt any major discovery by this old man who has watchguarded Indonesian islamic anthropology for a lifetime?!) and Etty Indriati of (Islamic) Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta: "This is not a new species, this is a developmentally abnormal individual. The LB1 ("Hobbit") skull is deformed and mirror imaging creates different faces hence suggesting developmental abnormalities." They also "studied" 76 Rampasasa pygmies living nearby the Liang Bua cave where LB1 was found, and reported that these lack chins and occasionally have premolar teeth similar to those in Homo floresiensis.
Background on Pennsylvania university and "blatant pro-Islam bias"
Dr. Eugene Narrett: "According to Penn State Bans Jewish Student´s Anti-Terrorism Exhibit Penn State, at the eleventh hour, quashed an art exhibit planned by a Jewish student. The exhibit documented the destruction of Jewish holy sites. Every reasonably alert, educated person knows that such destruction is a common and alarming feature of this historical period. It is part of the vilification and demonization of Jews that is the modus operandi of the “palestinian authority,” Fatah and Hamas. The University banned the exhibit in the name of its policy of “zero tolerance for hate” and because the exhibit ostensibly did not provide “cultural diversity.” Sorry but it’s difficult and impossible to find an Islamic state or region in which Jewish holy sites or Jewish lives are safe, protected and respected. So the University of Pennsylvania’s soi disant policy of “zero tolerance for hate” actually is a familiar sort of politically correct Orwellian deceit: it is in fact and effect a policy of suppressing, humiliating, hating, silencing and marginalizing Jews and what Islamic states and organizations do to the Jewish people. This treatment of course includes Islamic school textbooks that teach muslim children that Jews are “the descendants of pigs and monkeys” and that “the virgins of paradise” will reward them for murdering Jews. American higher education has been an oxymoron for nearly four decades and the rot has increased esponentially as political correctness has become entrenched and included a blatant pro-Islamic bias. Partly this reflects a greedy, truth-be-damned desire for petro-dollars. Partly it reflects something, now recrudescent, much older and deeply embedded in the conflicted heart of western civilization."
2) A 5-7 million year old skull of a Mesopithecus (extinct ape) recently found in Greece has also been used as "evidence" against Homo floresiensis, apparently just because it had abt the same cranial volume (which says nothing abt the quality - see posting below).
Klevius comment: 1) The skull was deformed after death. Accordingly Peter Brown, the original discoverer of Homo floresiensis (see postings below) describes it as "complete nonsense." Furthermore all modern humans, as well as Rampasasa pygmies, possess a chin.
2) There were certainly no such advanced toolmakers around 5-7 myr ago!
From the abstract: "Liang Bua 1 (LB1) exhibits marked craniofacial and postcranial asymmetries and other indicators of abnormal growth and development. Anomalies aside, 140 cranial features place LB1 within modern human ranges of variation, resembling Australomelanesian populations."
Furthermore, if LB1 "exhibits marked craniofacial and postcranial asymmetries and other indicators of abnormal growth and development" then how come that 140 cranial features can be referred to as placing LB1 "within modern human ranges of variation, resembling Australomelanesian populations"?!
I repeat my initial standpoint: It's NOT a Homo erectus. It DOES represent something new in our understanding of human evolution.
ISN'T IT TRULY SAD THAT WE, IN THE 21ST CENTURY, STILL HAVE TO FIGHT THESE RELIGIOUS FUNDAMEBTALISTS!

New support for Klevius' criticism against Indonesian Muslim crypto-creationist "scientist"
Journal of Human Evolution
Homo floresiensis: Microcephalic, pygmoid, Australopithecus, or Homo?
by Debbie Argue, Denise Donlon, Colin Groves and Richard Wright (available online 5, July 2006):
"We explore the affinities of LB1 using cranial and postcranial metric and nonmetric analyses. LB1 is compared to early Homo, two microcephalic humans, a ‘pygmoid’ excavated from another cave on Flores, H. sapiens (including African pygmies and Andaman Islanders), Australopithecus, and Paranthropus. Based on these comparisons, we conclude that it is unlikely that LB1 is a microcephalic human, and it cannot be attributed to any known species. Its attribution to a new species, Homo floresiensis, is supported."
KLevius comment: see postings below + Out of Africa as "pygmies" and back as global "mongoloids"!

Did we get our intelligence from an extinct pygmy chimp who interbred with a human dito? So what abt Homo "Hobbit" floresiensis?

Background
Due to hybridization divergence times of species may vary by millions of years. This fact seems to support the Out of Africa as "pygmies" and back as global "mongoloids" hypothesis, as well as the possibility that there may be a similar relation to Homo floresiensis (see postings below).
The efforts made to avoid encountering a new humanlike species like Homo floresiensis are now peaking again. But the arguments are the same and completely empty as always. Yes, it can't be a Homo erectus successor because, as I 've written before, a) it's too small and b) there simply doesn't exist a distinct Homo erectus! And no, the humanlike organized brain doesn't connect it to humans but to an advanced ape/human hybridization with a much more wrinkled (and neuronally more complex) brain than Homo erectus/early sapiens (see Out of Africa as "pygmies" and back as global "mongoloids"), which fact explains the advanced tools as well as makes it possible that Homo floresiensis represents the "missing link" feared by religious fundamentalists (incl. ALL Islamists) etc!
So hello "true Muslims"* and other fundamentalists, here's the really sour catch. Maybe we got our super-wrinkled brain from a pygmy chimp who had developed it precisely because it needed more computing power (see EMAH on consciousness and AI) to compensate for its tiny braincase. This is also in line with the fact that humans are most closely related to smaller chimps.
* If you feel the language above is rude then why not compare it to the language of presidents and other major representatives of Islam. By the way, what do you think abt the fact that the most powerful Islamic nation now wants non-Muslims to wear signs indicating their non-Muslim status! MY LANGUAGE IS CERTAINLY A MINOR PROBLEM WHEN DISCUSSING ISLAM. Or do you prefer Islamic (submission) "dialogue"?!
Listen/read more abt to the Flores "hobbit" controversy (19 May, 2006) !
and think abt Islamic crypto-creationists like anthropology professor Teuku Jacob (see postings below).
Neuronal comparison of chimp, pygmy chimp, and humans
Interestingly bipedalism has preceded encephalization in human evolution.
The distribution of spindle cells (brain neurons) in the pygmy chimp (but not in ordinary chimps) resembles that of humans. 37 in chimpanzees, up to 75 in bonobos, and approximately 88 in humans (3.8% in common chimpanzee, 4.8% in bonobo, and 5.6% in humans of pyramidal cells in layer V traverses)! Observe that the volume of spindle cells correlates to encephalization. (source)
Brief summary of Peter Klevius' Out of Africa as "pygmies" and back as global "mongoloids" hypothesis
Although hybridization has been known for long its effect on the blurring of speciation has probably been gravely underestimated. Today it can't be excluded that not only different branches of homo, but also branches of pan and homo, may have interbreeded successfully up to modern humans. It's important to understand that "genetic windows" in the speciation barriers only have to fit certain parts of a population, which then later may transmit (internal hybridization) new genes to those who could not have hybridize in the first place.
What has been considered the chain of human ancestors (habilis, erectus, sapiens) may in fact be only the more or less empty vessel that was later (100.000 to 40.000 years ago) filled with a more complex brain tissue developed in pygmy apes that hybridized with pygmy humans in e.g East-Congo/Zaire's jungles. When this high quality brain tissue expanded in the wider (pygmy) human skull it encouraged them to migrate to places were dwarfism was no longer needed, i.e. to the same places where big (but stupid) homos already existed. The next hybridization then caused a significent body growth while the brain tissue came in handy when entering new areas and lifestyles, e.g. in the protein richt but cold north. Due to geographical pockets and idealized evolutionary patterns, different stages of this development tend to be much more confusing than they need to be.
Solving the stupid brain/big body puzzle (although Homo neanderthalensis possessed the biggest Homo brain ever, he can hardly be accused of having been too bright!)
First, let's forget abt "relative brain size"! Secondly, a Bonobo (pygmy chimp - considered the most intelligent ape on the planet) brain is abt 350 cc whereas Homo ("Hobbit") floresiensis is 450 cc. However, the tools etc discovered in the Hobbit cave were equally sophisticated as those of Homo sapiens (conventionally seen as successor of Homo erectus and predecessor to our own species Homo sapiens sapiens) with a brain size of 1300-1400 cc! Not to mention all hominid (a variety of Australopithecus) predecessors to Homo, who had bigger brains but didn't produce anything worth of mentioning.

Australopithecus afarensis (400-500 cc)

Pygmy chimp/Bonobo (350 cc)
Robert Martin: "There is a fundamental problem of the tiny brain size (of Homo floresiensis) combined with the sophisticated stone tools"
Peter Klevius: "There is a fundamental problem of the big brain size (of early Homos) combined with the unsophisticated stone tools"
Also see Peter Klevius Wittgensteinian analysis of thinking and language on Donald Duck and a Stone in the Holy Land of Language, and compare it to what Bonobo experts (like Sue Savage-Rumbaud) and others have experienced! There's been a lot talking abt "abstract" intelligence but much of it appears to be self-mirroring (see non-abstract symbols).
Is autism a key to hybridization between early Homo and Pan?
Autism has two interesting features: 1) Change in number of chromosomes and 2) Asocial behavior. Hence an autistic female early Homo pygmy, living in intimate contact (in what is today Congo/Zaire's jungles) with early Pan (that was abt the same size and genetically much more closely related to Homo than today) could well have been sexually targeted by horny male predecessors to Bonobos.
Was Indonesian crypto-creationist and Islamic state "anthropologist" Teuku Jacob more than wrong?
ASPM (Abnormal spindle-like microcephaly) is associated both to human individual degeneration of brain size as well as evolutionary growth of brain in apes (Pan) and humans (Homo). Teuku Jacob tried to "explain" Flores "Hobbit" as a sick human (he also stole the bones, damaged them, refused to give them back etc - perhaps ordered by the Islamic state of Indonesia). However, it could well be that Homo Floresiensis represents precisely the opposite! In this scenario true microcephaly in modern humans may be explained as disturbed genetical reflections of how we not only share our brain set up with the most advanced apes, but also that we got our "human intelligence" directly from them, hence avoiding to become just big, stupid Homos without content!
Human and shimp share large DNA duplication/deletion hotspots
- and SIV/HIV!
Homo "Hobbit" floresiensis made tools that didn't change over time and which were unlike those of Homo erectus!

Northern Europe is cooling because of global warming
IS THE WARMTH HEADING TO THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE?
We do know the ozone hole does. Because the north has the major part of continents this imbalance may well be reflected in climate change.
Are Swedish "scientists" the most cowardice and reluctant to adapt to uneasy empirical facts
Almost like HIV/AIDS deniers in southern Africa Swedish "scientists" have become notorious for belittling changes/threats. This is in line with a long totalitarian "von oben" Swedish attiitude and tradition and this also explains why the Swedes are known as one of the most easily ruled people ("the last DDR" - see Angels of Antichrist - kinship vs social state). No matter if we are talking Chernobyl, climate change, bird flu, Islamism, or Gulfstream, the pattern of denial is the same!
Russia and Scandinavia have this year experienced the coldest winter since the 1980s.
Due to increased amount of melting ice and snow in northern Atlantic, Gulfstream weakens, hence pulling the Siberian cold-center back to were it belongs without a Gulfstream. These may cause a really fast and harsh cooling in northern Europe , as well as an even more unpredictible climate in mid- and southern Europe.
The fast and radical fluctuations caused by oscillating Gulfstream due to overall climate global changes in the past is probably also a contributing factor why/how the gene/culture stock of Eurasian humans (some 10-40.000 years ago) were "pumped back and forth" in (a natural genetic and cultural lab) through Central-Asia, hence creating modern humans as described in

From Homo Floresiensis to Pygmies and Negritos?
According to Out of Africa as "Pygmies" and back as global "Mongoloids" a new genetic feature we may call a "small but super-wrinkled brain", sometime established itself in a "pygmy" hominid or homo population somewhere in Africa (East Congo/Tanzania?). These "pygmies" may have been "Homo Floresiensis". Some 80-60.000 ya some of them had hybridized with close relatives in Africa, hence paving the way for the M130 out-of-Afrca lineage (Negritos etc). A recent study, very thoughtprovoking in itself, may be even more so if adopted to this hypothesis.
"the first genetic evidence that statistically rejects the null
hypothesis that our species descends from a single, historically panmictic population. In a
global sample of 42 X chromosomes, two African individuals carry a lineage of non-coding
17.5 kilobase sequence that has survived for over one million years without any clear traces
of ongoing recombination with other lineages at this locus. These patterns of deep haplotype
divergence and long-range linkage disequilibrium are best explained by a prolonged
period of ancestral population subdivision followed by relatively recent interbreeding. This
inference supports human evolution models that incorporate admixture between divergent
African branches of the genus Homo."
Klevius' comment: If my hypothesis is even remotely true this combined out-of-Africa/out-of-Asia scenario would be almost too good to be true. Everyone satisfied (except those with a "Mongoloid-complex") and the Mbutis at the center stage!
